Nish's Niche, LLC was founded by Shawnté Duplessis, a driven entrepreneur with deep roots in the Baton Rouge community and a family history in the trucking industry.
As a home health nurse, Shawnté spends a significant amount of time driving throughout the community and has consistently observed a shortage of safe, designated parking for commercial truck drivers — creating dangerous conditions for everyone.
That observation sparked a mission: build a facility that treats truck drivers with the respect, safety, and comfort they deserve.

A National Safety Crisis
The truck parking shortage is a $100 billion annual drain on the trucking industry and a serious public safety hazard.
In Baton Rouge, existing facilities offer extremely limited capacity — ranging from as few as 3 to approximately 20 spaces each. Most lack adequate security, proper lighting, or any driver amenities. This is not a future problem. It is happening every day.
